Sheet Pan Honey-Sesame Tofu and Green Beans
This honey sesame tofu with green beans is deceptively delicious for how little time and work is required to make it.
340 grams firm tofu, drained and patted dry
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon sesame oil
450 grams green beans, trimmed and halved
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1-2 spring onions, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, garlic, honey, ginger, and sesame oil.
Chop the tofu into small pieces, and toss with the prepared sauce to coat evenly. Arrange on a parchment paper or foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Arrange them on one side so that there's space for the beans. Bake the tofu for 12-15 minutes.
Take the tray out, flip the tofu on the other side. Arrange the beans in a single layer on the other side, drizzle with olive oil, salt, and chilli flakes. Toss gently to ensure they're evenly coated. Return the tray to the oven, bake for 12-15 minutes more, till the tofu is golden-brown and crispy on the other side as well.
Divide evenly on plates, sprinkle with spring onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
